Suddenly on November 15, 2012 in Falls Church, VA at the age of 61.
Bill grew up in Columbia, Pennsylvania. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Congo in the early 1970's before moving to Northern Virginia. A longtime resident of Arlington, VA, he retired after 30 years from the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum where he began his career as a Museum Technician and eventually served as Chief of Restoration.
He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Reese, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Susan Reese; beloved daughter, Sarah (Jeff) Derr; cherished granddaughter, Payton Derr; mother, Claire Reese; sisters, Ann Shaub and Carol Markley; nieces, Kirstie Williams and Carrie Clair; nephew, Nicholas Markley and their families.
A service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 1 PM at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Rd., Alexandria, VA 22302.
Bill was a founding board member of The Eric Fund, an organization that helps children and adults with disabilities lead more independent lives. The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Eric Fund, P.O. Box 65188, Washington DC 20035-5188, www.ericfund.org
