TINSLEY STEWART age 81. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Haely); dear father of Haely Bates (Bruce), Heather Hurd (Dave), T.J. (deceased) and Allison Charvat (Joe); grandfather of Christopher, Maddison, Mackenzie, Matthew, Haely, Malorie, John and Audrey; brother of Jack Stewart (deceased); son of Herbert "Pete" and Elsie Stewart (deceased). Passed away suddenly December 18, 2012. He was a proud Lakewood native and was actively involved with his community and schools. He was a 1949 Lakewood High graduate and enthusiastically supported its Alumni Association. He was a member of the Athletic Commission, Softball Commission and named to the LHS Sports Hall of Fame in 1994. He graduated from Kent State University in 1953 and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He immediately entered the US Army and served in the Korean War. Lifetime member of the Lakewood Elks 1350. In his retirement he continued to serve the city of Lakewood as a crossing guard. Family will receive friends Friday, December 21, 4-8 p.m. in the MCGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF WESTLAKE, 25620 CENTER RIDGE RD. (WEST OF COLUMBIA). Services will be held on Saturday, December 22 in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to the Lakewood High Alumni Assoc. or Make A Wish Foundation.
