Theresa Helen Warner (nee Schultz), age 83, of Lorain, passed away January 25, 2013 at Mercy Partners Community Regional Medical Center from a sudden illness.
She was born to the late Valentine and Sophie (nee Turton) Schultz on January 31, 1929 in Lorain, Ohio. Theresa graduated from Lorain High School in 1947 and lived her entire life in Lorain.
Theresa was an avid gardener, of which roses of all kinds and varieties were her favorite flower. She was a member of the P.L.A.V. Drill Team and P.L.A.V. Ladies' Auxiliary. She was also a member of the U.P.C. Ladies' Auxiliary and the Paduan Travelers. She worked for a number of years from 1947-1969 for Prince Biederman, Joseph & Fiess, and Dalton as a very talented seamstress. In addition to her years as a seamstress, Theresa worked from 1980-1990 for the Board of Elections as a voting booth worker. She was a dedicated past member of Nativity BVM Parish in Lorain and was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Lorain, Ohio.
Theresa deeply enjoyed spending time with her many loving family and friends. She loved going out to eat at numerous restaurants and greatly enjoyed shopping; especially for shoes. Theresa always put the needs of her family and friends before her own. Her family enjoyed sharing and eating the wonderful Polish food and bakery she prepared year round in her kitchen. She was also an avid collector of dolls and bells, which she beautifully had on display in her home. She will be sadly missed by the many birds and squirrels she would feed daily in her yard.
Theresa is survived by her daughter Nancy (John) Fraysier, son Joseph (Sandra) Warner, all of Lorain; grandson Jeremy (Tabitha) Fraysier, Jamey (Autumn) Fraysier, and Zachary (Tina) Warner; granddaughters Becky Fraysier and Nicole Schwarz (nee Warner); and great-grandchildren Courtney Koerner, Christian and Zachary Gentzel, Addison, Aubrey and Hannah Schwarz, and Christian Warner; and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Carl Warner on December 20, 1990, and sisters Veronica Cibroski (nee Schultz) in 2000 and Lottie Burkiewicz (nee Schultz) in 2011.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 27th from 2-6 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center,1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Closing prayers will be said at 9:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev.
