Robert W. "Bob" Lancaster, age 65, of West Point, IN, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital. Born July 23, 1947 in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Roy and Vera Hughes Lancaster. Bob was a 1967 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and he honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 during the Vietnam Conflict.
Bob married Donna Hollis on June 18, 1967 in Lafayette, and she survives. He worked at Eli Lilly for 30 years and for the past 13 years, owned and operated Clear View Window Cleaning. He was a member of Jackson Heights United Methodist Church where he was a former Trustee and Sunday School Teacher, former Pastor Parish President, and a current Lay Leader of the church. Bob was a lifetime member of the Attica VFW Post. He enjoyed woodworking, yard work, being outdoors, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Surviving with his wife, Donna, is a daughter Lita Marion (husband, Maj. Jon Marion, IN National Guard) of Mooresville, IN, a son Anthony "Tony" Lancaster of Lafayette, three sisters: Janet Hamlin, Sue Delph (husband, Jim), and Karen Simler (husband, Lynn) all of Lafayette, and two brothers: Don Lancaster (companion, Gail) and Dick Lancaster (wife, Beth) both of Lafayette. Bob is also survived by his three grandchildren, Jacob Chilcott, Christian Marion and Andrew Marion.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Services 10 a.m. Friday in Hippensteel Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Tague officiating. Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Heights United Methodist Church.
