Richard D. Dunning Age 76 of Garrettsville, previously of Chardon, died January 30, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cleveland July 3, 1936, he has been a lifelong area resident. He proudly served in the US Army, stationed in Germany for 2 ½ years. Mr. Dunning was a Tool and Die maker for Lincoln Electric in Euclid for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and loved playing softball in the Senior Leagues in AZ. He is survived by his wife MaryAnn (nee: Kleppel) Dunning of Garrettsville, whom he married April 4, 1959 in Thompson, children Michael (Sara) Dunning of Windham, Ronald (Christina) Dunning of Chardon and Denise (George) Owens of Garrettsville. He is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Dunning, his parents Homer and Ursella (nee: Mellert) Dunning and 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, sister Beverly (Donald) Williams of Chardon and brother Jim (Holly) Krueger of Chardon. FUNERAL SVC:Sunday, February 3 at 3:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (On Rt. 44, 500' south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon. The family will receive friends on Sunday 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Donations are requested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110.
