Norman Pierce Russell, 93, of Kent, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at his home.
He was born May 22, 1919 in Kent, to George Lafe and Harriet I. (Tarr) Russell. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army during the World War II. Norman was a draftsman at Highway Products and previously at Twin Coach. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kent. Norman was also a member of the Packard Auto Club, and was a collector of vintage Packards. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and loved horses.
He is survived by his son, Lafe Michael Russell of Kent; and niece, Lori Stuver of Kent; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dominica Russell; brothers, Edward and Jesse Lee Russell; and sisters, Virginia Carey and Ruth Russell.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, January 31st at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 1st with Pastor Elizabeth Hazelton and Pastor Douglas Fidler officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406.
