COLUMBIA A memorial service for Mary Margaret "Peggy" Rogers Rouffy, 79, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. prior to the chapel service.
Mrs. Rouffy died Sunday, January 20, 2013. Born in Huntington, W Va., she was a daughter of the late Cecil Newton and Jewel Ora Reynolds Rogers. Peggy had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. She enjoyed art, music, reading, drawing and calligraphy. Peggy graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelors degree in Art History. She worked at the Richland County Public Library for 14 years and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Fernand "Frank" Emmanuel Rouffy, Jr.,sons, Michael Rouffy and David (Holly) Rouffy, both of Columbia,sister-in-law Alvina Rogers, brother John (Mary Ann) Rogers of West Columbia,brother-in-law, Edward (Virginia) Rouffy of Portland, Oregon, many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends around the world.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Cecil Newton Rogers, Jr. and sister, Dorothy (Pete) Rogers Proos and her nephew David Proos.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 128 Stone Mark Lane, Columbia SC 29210.
