Mary Ann R. Mucha (nee Stauder), age 70, a lifelong resident of Lorain passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
She was born on May 3, 1941 in Lorain, Ohio to Robert William and Bernyce ( nee Jungbluth) Stauder. Mary Ann was a 1958 graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and was very talented at making clothing, especially dresses. She collected antique Salt and Pepper Shakers.
MaryAnn spent the last three years at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home. She was known by all the residents and kept all the nurses and aides on their toes. As a resident there she won Miss Congeniality in a pageant. She was a long time member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church where she loved singing in the choir and attending church functions.
She is survived by her only son, Joseph L. Mucha, of Lorain; brother, Lawrence (Judith) Stauder, of Gahanna, Ohio; sisters, Janet (Robert) Sholiton, of Inverness, Illinois and Diane (Alastair) Yarrow, of Avoca, Ireland; sister-in-law, Kathleen Stauder, of Washing D.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Joseph W. Mucha, in 2010; parents, Robert William and Bernyce (nee Jungbluth) Stauder and her brother, John W. Stauder.
The Mucha Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation. Rev. Fr. Robert Glepko, Pastor of Nativity BVM Catholic Church will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
