Mary Ann Cech (Dzurovcik), age 80, of Blue Island, IL, passed away on Monday, 11/12/2012 in Des Plaines, IL. She was born on 3/4/1932 in Hammond, IN to her parents, Paul and Anna Dzurovcik nee Vojnik.
Mary Ann was the second of four children. She married Michael G. Cech in Whiting, IN on November 20, 1954. They had two children. She attended Bryant and Stratton Business College, and worked as a secretary at Eastman Kodak. Later in life, she worked as the media center supervisor at Paul Revere Elementary School until her retirement. Mary Ann was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She enjoyed Bible study, baking, and traveling.
Mary Ann will be remembered by her loving children, Paula (Robert) Payne and Suzanne (Pat Chillemi) Cech, and her two grandchildren, Michael and Rebecca Payne. She is also survived by her brother, John (Irene) Dzurovcik, of Munster, IN, and sister, Ruth Blatnicky of Joliet, IL, as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by husband, Michael G. Cech, brother, George Dzurovcik, and brother-in-law, Rev. Edwin Blatnicky.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Mary Ann's life on Friday, 11/16/2012, from 3 PM to 9 PM, at Hallinan Funeral Home, 2601 Vermont Street, Blue Island, IL 60406. The funeral will be on Saturday, 11/17/2012; visitation at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4041 W. 120th St., Alsip, IL 60803, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, service at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, Mary Ann has requested that donations be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
