Marian L Hughes, 76, of Kent, passed away peacefully into the waiting arms of her husband, at Robinson Memorial Hospital, on Friday, February 1, 2013, surrounded by family and friends.

Marian was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio and through the years lived in several places until settling in Kent, in 1967, where she and her husband Norman raised 3 children. Marian worked for 41 years as an infant room teacher at what is now Kid's Kare of Kent. She stayed "young at heart" while mainly working with younger staff members that liked to ask "Miss Marian" for advice, and she enjoyed it when they shared their life experiences with her.

She also enjoyed living on the same street in Kent since 1967 and maintained strong friendships with the neighbors ever since. Likewise, she has remained close with people whom she met while attending the Kent Nazarene Church, and the Southeast Nazarene Church in Tallmadge.

She is survived by sons Jerry and Greg of Kent; daughter, Coleen (Jeremy) Harris; grandchildren, Brandon, Benjamin, Shayna, and Kayla. Sisters, Juanita Hesser, Lillian "Iela" Lum, and Delores (Ralph) Baynum, and numerous nieces and nephews; along with cousins and great friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Norman, parents, Kelly and Lillian, and brother, Kelly.

Please join us in celebrating Marian's life by visiting her at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home 628 W. Main Street, Kent, 6:00pm-8:00pm Monday February 4th, 2013, where funeral services will be held Tuesday February 5th at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Standing Rock Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Ohio Valley Affiliate, 5211 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH 45227
