Former Michigan resident Kathleen (Kate) Elizabeth Logan, died on November 23, 2012, in Ocala, Florida. She was 62 years old. Kate started her life as the expected half of a pair of twins born to J. Daniel and Jane Waddell Logan, preceding her unexpected sister Jamie into the world, in Decatur, Illinois, by three minutes. She grew up in Oak Park and Berkley, Michigan, graduating from Berkley High School, where she was a National Merit Student. She attended college and worked at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated college with a degree in environmental science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1982, and remained in the Ann Arbor area for most of the ensuing years. Kate was an enthusiastic student of history, science, and her family's genealogy. She was also an animal lover, a cook, and a self-acclaimed "Disney nut." Among her greatest joys were the times she spent at Walt Disney World with her family and her lifelong friends Gail Tabet and Shelly Dunlop. She loved to laugh and found humor in nearly every situation--even in her hard-fought battle against cancer. Kate has been an inspiration to all who know her with her spirit and courage. Kate did many things on her way to the job she enjoyed and excelled at the most, computer technical support at the University of Michigan. She retired from that position in 2007. Kate moved to Ocala, Florida, with her mother in 2007. Kate is survived by her twin sister Jameson Logan and Jamie's husband David Stewart, and her brother Daniel T. Logan. Roberts funeral Homes Bruce Chapel West (352) 854-2266 made the arrangements. To leave condolences: www.robertsfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, www.ocrf.org.
