Exeter, VA

Jimmy Leonard Garrison, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (Dec 4, 2012) at his residence in Exeter, VA

Jimmy worked for years with his father Conley in the drywall business. Jimmy also worked many years with the Town of Big Stone Gap, until his retirement. He was manager over the Big Cherry Watershed. He was of the Christian faith, he loved his family, and he will be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Conley Garrison; and his brother, Conley Garrison Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel Garrison, of the home; his mother Carol Garrison, of Big Stone Gap; three daughters, Tammy Hall and husband, Shug, Jamie Barker and husband James, Melanie Horner and husband, Todd; two sons, Conley Trigg Garrison and wife, Dora Lynn, Tracy Garrison and wife, Jennifer, all of Big Stone Gap; ten grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren; one sister, Sherry Sturgill and husband, Wayne of Big Stone Gap; one niece, one nephew, and a host of other very close relatives and friends.

It was Jimmy wishes to have a private burial in Glencoe Cemetery.

The family received friends for a Celebration of Life service at New Hope Assembly of God in Big Stone Gap on Thursday (Dec. 6, 2012) at 6:00 p.m.
