James "Jim" Sizemore
James "Jim" Sizemore 80, of Beckley was called home to be with his Lord and to be reunited with his wife Betty on Thursday November 1, 2012 in a Charleston Hospital following a long battle with black lung.
Born April 6, 1932 in Glen Fork, he was the son of the late Glen and Opal Brooks Sizemore.
Jim was a veteran serving in the army.
Jim was a retired coal miner, and after his retirement he was employed as maintance worker at Cross Roads Mall in Beckley where he was well known by all that knew him. Jim was a very accomplished craftsman he enjoyed making things from wood, some of the many items he made were the bird houses that are still in use at the Cross Roads Mall, and he also enjoyed making furniture.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Sizemore.
Those left to cherish Jim's memory include, his three children Kathy Sizemore, Eric Sizemore and wife Beverly, and Michael Sizemore all of Beckley. Two Grandchildren Brian Sizemore and wife Marley, and Corey Sizemore all of Beckley. His four brothers Gary Sizemore, Frank Sizemore, "Stormy" Sizemore, and Ed "DD" Sizemore, and a host of brother in laws, sisters in laws, and nieces and nephews, and countless beloved friends.
A service celebrating Jim's life will be held at 1pm Saturday November 3, 2012 in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home Beckley. Following the service Jim will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11am until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
