Herbert A. Cole, 82, of Avon Lake and formerly of Findlay, OH, passed away on November 2. Born on the family farm in Wharton, OH, Herbert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sabra P. Cole (nee McCullough), his children Bruce (Trudi) of San Francisco, CA, David (Stephannie) of Avon Lake, OH, Brian (Page) of Fairfax, CA, and Laurie (Inderjit) of Chicago, IL, and four grandchildren, Guston, Jolie, Samantha and Zachary.

He is survived by his siblings Melvin (Doris), Annabelle, and Carolyn Thomas (Eddie), of Findlay, OH; Everett (Karen) of Newcastle, IN, Foster (Jo) of Mt. Blanchard, OH, Clarabelle Van Horn (Dick) of Celina, OH; Barbara Van Horn (Jim, deceased) of Auburn, IN and many nieces and nephews. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Ola Cole, his brother Donald Cole, and his half-sister Virginia Fields.

Named after Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States, Herb graduated from Mt. Blanchard High School in 1948 and was Vice President of his class. Herb worked as a sales executive for LESCO (Lakeshore Equipment and Supply Co.) of Rocky River, OH for thirty years. Post retirement, Herb enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling to visit his children and working on perfecting his lawn. Herb also became a devoted grandparent, attending many sporting events and school performances and still made time for fishing, helping out his neighbors, and meeting his friends for their daily coffee at Panera.

Visitation will take place from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7 at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service to celebrate Herb's life and remember his ever kind and giving spirit. Busch Celebrant Jan Hart will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave. , Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
