Harriet L. Bornemann, age 73, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 1, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 14, 1939 in Buffalo, NY and has lived in North Ridgeville for the past 45 years, moving from Lakewood.
Harriet was a charter member of Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church in North Ridgeville. She retired from Value City Furniture in 2001, where she worked as a decorator.
Mrs. Bornemann enjoyed working in her garden and crocheting, but her true joy in life was found in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bud; daughters Carla Geyer and Jeanne (Casey) Gabel, all of North Ridgeville; grandsons Christopher Geyer of North Ridgeville, Justin Geyer of Elyria, Kevin Bredel of Westlake, Nicholas and Cory Gabel, both of North Ridgeville; granddaughter Cassie Gabel of North Ridgeville; great granddaughter Isabel Geyer of Elyria; great grandson Wyatt Bredel of Westlake.
She was preceded in death by her mother Mary (nee Carney) Claxton and step-father Clarence Claxton.
The family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and from 12:45 p.m. until a 1:15 p.m. Funeral Service on Wednesday at Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church, 34555 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church.
