Gaut, Ella Denney, age 82, of Knoxville, passed peacefully to her Heavenly home, January 22, 2013 at Brakebill Health Care Center, following her decade long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Ella was born, January 21, 1931 to the late Robert Denney and Lula Denney Mozen. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Knoxville and the "Joy" Sunday School Class. Ella was a member of the Ossoli Circle and enjoyed her time as a real estate agent in the Knoxville area for many years. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Charles E. Gaut, Sr.; daughter, Teresa "Tere" G. Atwater; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie Gaut, Jr and Martha Gaut; grandchildren, Michael Denney Gaut and Emily Irene Gaut. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff and physicians of Homewood Residence and Brakebill Health Care for their loving care of Mrs. Gaut during her illness. A celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Dr. William D. "Bill" Shiell officiating. Interment will be private. The family request that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc. PO Box 10088, Knoxville, TN 37939-9910 or to First Baptist Church, Knoxville Youth Department, 510 West Main Street, Knoxville, TN 37902. Online condolences may be sent to www.rosemortuary.com. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
