Edward E. Mackey, 67, of Elyria passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Hospice Center of St. Joseph after being ill for the past year. He has been a resident of Elyria since 1972 and was born April 21, 1943 in Twinsburg, OH.

Edward was a chef from 1972-1987 at Spring Valley Country Club in Elyria. He was a member of the Elyria Moose Club, enjoyed fishing, cooking, being a jokester, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Mackey is survived by his son William “Scott” Mackey of Charlotte, NC; daughter Shirley A. McClain (husband Richard) of Elyria; son Charles E. “Charlie” Mackey (wife Kelli) of Elyria; grandchildren Danniel, Scottie, and Brandon; sister Carol R. Chapman of NC; half-brother Jim Lemons of Medina, OH; brother-in-law Charles Evans (Linda) of Swartze Creek, MI; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Karen S. Mackey (nee Evans); sister Ruth Mitchell; brother Danny Mackey; parents Raymond and Catherine (nee Winfield) Mackey.

Funeral service will be 1pm Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. Connie Smith, Busch Celebrant, will officiate. Cremation by Busch Funeral Home.
