Betty J. (nee Rogers) Braden, age 55, of Wakeman, passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2012 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. She was born on July 29, 1957, Sutton, WV and has lived in the Wakeman area since 1968. She was a 1976 graduate of Western Reserve High School. She worked as a bus driver for Norwalk City Schools for eight years. She was also an agent for Insurance Services in Norwalk. She was a member of the Townsend Firebelles, and an Auxiliary member of the Combat Vets Association. She enjoyed horseshoes, riding her Harley Davidson, and being a Zumba Instructor.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Brian "Buck" Braden, her mother Hattie Rogers, of Norwalk, her daughter Samantha (Dale) Wilson, of Wakeman, a step-son Brian Braden Jr., of Norwalk, a sister Lois Rogers-Ortner, of Norwalk, brothers Ken (Tammie) Rogers , of Wakeman, and Robert Rogers, of Wakeman, two grandchildren, Marissa Jackson and Dalion Wilson, her father and mother-in-law Keith and Margaret Braden, of Collins, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Roger Garton Jr., and her father Kenneth Rogers Sr.
Friends may call on Saturday December 15, from 12:00 noon until the time of services at 4:00 pm at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Pastor Junior Kerns will officiate.
