Abby Hovermale was adopted from the Anderson Animal Shelter at the age of 2 months in July of 1999. Abby passed away December 17, 2011. She was also fondly referred to as "Adventure Dog" and "Baby Girl". Abby is survived by her pet parents, Brenda, Larry, and Brian Hovermale; and an adopted canine sister, Annie, who joined the family in 2001. She is also survived by Bridget, Greyson, and Leighton. Abby was particulary fond of her tennis balls, horse ball, and frisbees. She had a love of visiting parks. Mounds State Park was her favorite. She loved to dig for moles. Abby also enjoyed riding in the car and chasing reflections. She was not fond of thunderstorms, fireworks, or of other dogs coming into the yard. When it came time to sleep, Abby loved nesting in her dog bed, on the couch or on the futon. Taco Bell was a favorite treat that she enjoyed sharing from time to time with Brian. She was a "traveling dog" and took a roadtrip all the way to New Jersey with Brian. Abby knew the meaning of several words and, to keep her from getting over-excited, we had to spell some of the words. People constantly told us how beautiful she was. Abby was our "protector". She was the official house guard. She also gave the best "Border Collie Hugs." Our beloved Abby is deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts.
