From our earliest days in Florence with the mid-70's cabinet shop to the many years of the mail route, we both always considered it a pleasure and honor to visit with Doug or Helen. They were 2 of the friendliest folks in town and stayed that way for us until the end. We will always regret not being able to visit with them 1 more time here. We are very fortunate to have been their friends for so many years. Petrea and John

To the family he meant so very much to all of us and always showed me how to laugh and he spread joy wherever he went. A good un gone but we'll see him on the other side. God bless.

I remember well the hardware store, with that old woodburning stove going on cold winter days like today, Doug's contagious sense of humor and Helen working on the books. I sure miss those days. I can't be there today, but know that my heart, thoughts and prayers are there with all of you.

I loved going into the hardware store and seeing Doug. He always made me laugh, and I left happier than when I came in. What a gift of happiness and laughter he had! He and Helen were both treasures. God bless their family in your time of loss.

I am sorry for your loss. Doug was a wonderful person and always brought a smile or chuckle when you saw him. He will be missed. I am sure he was glad to be reunited with Helen, Misty, and most of all our LORD! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
