Memories & Candles
Goodbye to my precious brother. The memories remain and
they will be with me the rest of my days. I remember the visit
at the Feline Center where we were able to hold 8 week old
baby tigers - a beautiful moment to share and because you
first introduced me to the facility made this extra special.
God keep you...

I am very sad to hear about Richard's passing. I am a CNA who helped take care of him at the nursing facility and I really adored him! He was sweet, funny, and always gave us something to laugh about. He will be missed greatly and remembered always. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Richard Petraits was a dear friend and neighbor. My brother, sister and I lived with our grandmother across the street at 1640 Auburn. Over the many years Richard and I would visit and talk about the news of the day, the Air Force, and flying. Yes, I went into the Air Force and became a pilot. On many return trips to Indy we would visit with Richard. He was a wonderful friend. The picture included here is from one of

Pete was a great friend. We lost track over the years.
I would push his American Bantom roadster to get it started for the drive to school. We ran around a lot in those school years.
I accidently set off a lb. of black gun powder, in Petraits garage, fooling around one time. I was burning pretty bad and could not see. Pete got me down and rolled me in the grass to put the fire out. I was months healing from that. I probably owe Richard my life.
I was saddened to here of his passing.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Norma, Cathy and the rest of the family during their time of loss. I remember Uncle Richard as a man of many interests. I enjoyed our conversations related to aviation and I learned alot about Ham radio's and their operation during our short visits. I still remember as a little boy him showing me the proper way to shoot my Bee Bee gun and the best way to hit the target. He was a good Man that will be missed by all.

May Dick rest in Peace. We were good friends at Indiana Bell and had many trying times and many happy ones as well in the Radio Group.

Dear Petraits Family,
There are few things more difficult than dealing with the loss of a loved one. We, along with our staff, are honored and humbled that you have chosen our family to care for your family during this time. It is our hope that we have been able, in some small way, to lighten your burden and give proper reverence to a life lived. Please let us know if we can be of further service.
