Walter "Wally" Kuriata Obituary

I was so sorry to hear that Uncle Wally passed away. I have so many great memories of him as I was growing up and his laugh was infectious. This world has lost a wonderful man who was full of life and fun. My heart goes out to all of you who knew him.

Love,

Melissa Hayes Zhiss

While at the visitation I heard over and over Walt was a friend to all. Wally touched my life many years ago. He is an example for what we all should be.

Wally will be missed at Priest Lake. Wally always had something for the kids and all of the kids knew him as "Uncle Wally". I know dad will miss talking to you about whether the fish are biting or not. I'm sure mom, Carol, Uncle Jason and Becky have already dealt you into the next hand of poker. Heaven gained another special angel.

We have very fond memories of Wally: whistling at the office, supplying us all with fruit and veggies, a cheerful smile and greeting, and the traditional Polish prayer before meals we shared together. Your Dad was a very special man and he is survived by his legacy-that legacy is, you his family, genuine, giving, compassionate, down to earth people. May you feel God's comfort surrounding you, and may you see hope amidst the tears of sorrow. Our hearts are with you as we pray for you during this time of sorrow.

Wally, or “Valter” as we called him, will be missed by many. Having met him through Wayne Stovern, I have many fond memories of sharing great laughter together. He was simply a gem of an individual. I feel blessed to have known him. My sincerest condolences go out to Wally’s family and especially Sharon. His spirit will remain all around Dowagiac, no doubt, and he’ll become a guardian angel for those that he loved and cared for so dearly.
