Gene P. Borris age 92, of Easton, MN, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at St. Luke's Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton, MN. Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 12, at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, from 4:00-7:00 PM, with a 7 PM Prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Father Thomas Niehaus will officiate and burial will be in OLMC Catholic Cemetery, Barber Twp., Faribault Co., MN. Gene Probart Borris was born August 29, 1920 in Akeley, Minnesota the son of Andrew and Ethel (Probart) Borris. He was united in marriage to Charlene L. Braunshausen, October 5, 1950 in Easton, MN. He owned and operated Bob's Service Station in Easton for 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses, and working crossword puzzles.
Gene is survived by his wife Charlene of Blue Earth, MN; 3 children: Bill Borris of Carlyle, IA, Julie (Gordon) Martin of Wells, MN, Jan (Beatriz) Borris of Fairfax,VA; 4 grandchildren: Ryan
(Laura) Borris of Winnebago, MN, Laura (James) Gordon of Sioux Falls, SD, Taylor Martin of Jackson, MN, Joshua Borris of Fairfax, VA; 3 great-grandchildren: Lindsey and Cale Borris, Mason Gordon; sister: Betty Colby of Easton, MN; sister-in-law: Marie Borris of Mpls., MN; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws: Leo and Edith Braunshausen; 2 brothers: Gerald and Robert (Pat) Borris, 2 sisters, Irene (Joe) Welch, and Mary Jane in infancy.
