I have only just learned of Siddiq's passing away. He and I were classmates at St Patrick's High School in Karachi (where we jointly edited the school newspaper) and fellow students at Government College in Lahore (both in Pakistan). Siddiq and I spent many hours working together and, I am almost embarrassed to say, watching cricket matches when we should have been studying.

Siddiq was a wonderful human being -- warm, generous, always willing to share his knowledge, a very loyal friend, and with a great sense of humor. I am sorry that we gradually lost touch when he left for the United States and I went to Cambridge University in England.

My heartfelt sympathy to the family. However, as someone said: "Do not grieve that I am gone; rejoice that I was here." The very last thing Siddiq would have wanted would be to create sorrow for anyone. He was that kind of special person.

Ruki, Nilo, and Family: So very sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. My family has you all in our prayers. I understand your grief, as we lost my Mother almost 2 years ago, at age 76. It's very hard to lose a parent. I wish you healing and the comfort of fond memories. With Love, Carmelle

We were shocked and saddened. Years of working with Sid were productive, and the time spent with Sid and Phyllis, the Alvers, the Bittars, the Davises and the Novembers during our annual Otis/P&W Engineering reunions has been great fun.

Mrs. Sattar, Nilofer, & Ruki-I am so sad to hear of Mr. Sattar's passing. I have such fond memories of him as such a kind and gentle man. This must be such a difficult time for all of you and my thoughts and prayers are with you. The Grasis Family

As a secretary I worked with Sid for quite a few years in the Program Management Department at Pratt & Whitney. He was a well liked and fair man who didnt let office politics sway him one way or the other. I enjoyed his quiet nature and admired his knowledge in the engineering field. His time here on earth was cut much too early. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife and family.
